This book is currently the most comprehensive published source for information on Frank Tashlin.  It includes essays and interviews by American, Belgian and (of course!) French writers; a selection of Tashlin's own articles; and an extensive (not to say exhaustive) "documentation" section with a wealth of information about Tashlin's work in all media.  Many of the illustrations were drawn from Tashlin's own collection, and are really quite wonderful.  A terrific book, if I say so myself -- and not just because I was responsible for about half of it.

I have a number of copies of this book on hand here at ReadInk, although I have not yet offered any for sale because of my wish to create an errata/addenda sheet to package with the book, which is needed to correct a number of typographical glitches that were somehow introduced during the publication process (even though the publishers were given "ready-to-go" material, carefully proofed, on disk), and to discuss briefly a few things that came to light too late to be included in the book.  You could try to talk me into selling you a copy anyway, but if you're not up to the challenge you can click here to search for other available copies of the book on abebooks.com (The Advanced Book Exchange).  [I suggest you just enter "Frank Tashlin" in the title field for your search; not all sellers necessarily include Roger Garcia's name as the author.]

There was also an earlier book on Tashlin (the first ever published about him) issued by the Edinburgh Film Festival in 1973, with similar (but much less comprehensive) content.  Very scarce these days, although I do happen to have a copy for sale, which you can view by clicking here
